“To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don’t grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float.”~ Alan Watts
Let Go! Move On! It’s Over! Time to Say Good bye!
I’ve heard myself say these words internally, and heard them from friends and family, on many occasions.
They transmit scary fear, crazy confusion, grief, relief and excitement all, at the same time.
Do you know what it feels like when you’ve done all you know to do, with your heart on the line, and you know you must walk away? You know you can no longer wait in expectation for someone or some system to change. There is no life left here!
Maybe the time has come to release a relationship that drags on you constantly. Or, let go of a project that –no matter what you’ve done- isn’t working. Or, retire a job that has lost the juice it once had or where you don’t feel respected.
You’ve known it for awhile. You’ve been lowering your price and your self-esteem is dimming down by the minute. You’re pretty tapped out with feeling depressed, irritable or out of control with Your life.
Change and growth are an inherent part of life. We outgrow, complete, change and move on. This is how we evolve and stay current, present and alive with life.
While letting go and moving on is not easy, we can get on board and learn how to move through change with as much grace and strength as possible.
There are two ways you can meet life when it is time to Let Go.
You can go through it with POWER or you can do it as a victim.
Real Letting Go is EMPOWERMENT
You empower yourself first with your decision to let go. You brave the frontier of the unknown, because you have faith in yourself that you can Do this. And, you trust life, universe, God, destiny…whatever that higher power is for you, to support your highest good.
Even though you may feel disheartened or disappointed for a time, you embrace your Brilliant Heart Powers–the heart states that gentle you right through the process of change. You’ll come out on the other side of the process feeling empowered and alive with new life. You might even ask yourself,
“Why did I suffer so long?”
Without the Brilliant Powers carrying you through Letting Go, you move on as a victim–riddled with self-pity and blame. This is a Giving Up position that brings hopelessness and anxiety. You have little to no compassion for yourself. You don’t trust you can make healthier choices or to do the best you can. You don’t believe you can move through the grief that may come. You have no faith that there is support from the universe. This cuts you off from YOU and your self-respect. Certainly this is an option, but it doesn’t work.
When you choose EMPOWERMENT though change, you gain more of yourself. Your mind breaks open to new awareness. The vulnerability you experience opens you to an internal strength you didn’t know you had. You meet new people and situations that weren’t previously available to you. You Raise Your State.
Next time change is upon you, remember that real EMPOWERMENT is available in the process. All you need to do is make the decision to Let Go and Move On. The Brilliant Powerswill sustain and expand you into more of You. I know You can do it!
So, speaking of change:
